São Paulo Mayor met with Sheldon Adelson for the Anhembi Complex

At the two-day roadshow, through Las Vegas and Los Angeles, São Paulo’s Mayor Bruno Covas established contacts with about 60 corporate executives and investment funds, much of the hotel and entertainment industry. He met with businessman Sheldon Adelson of the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, owner of The Venetian casino, who would have shown interest in the Anhembi Complex, one of Brazil's assets in the bidding process.

São Paulo's mayor, Bruno Covas (PSDB), ended a trade mission in the western United States yesterday to attract companies from the region to the process of concessions and privatizations in São Paulo.

Prior to the trip, he said publicly that the Municipal Privatization Plan will unleash without the obstacles that have arisen during the election period.

At the two-day roadshow, through Las Vegas and Los Angeles, the Mayor kept in touch with about 60 corporate executives and investment funds, much of the hotel and entertainment industry.

Among them, Chuck Steedman, COO of Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), one of the largest international sports and entertainment conglomerates, manages more than 100 sports arenas around the world.

Bruno Covas also met with entrepreneur Sheldon Adelson of the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, owner of The Venetian Casino, who would have shown interest in the Anhembi Complex, one of the county's assets in the process of bidding.

Juan Quirós, president of SP Negócios, organized the commercial mission and accompanied Covas on the trip.
