Genius Sports hosted technology workshop in Thailand

Following on from the recent announcement of a new partnership, Genius Sports and the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) held a first-of-its-kind workshop in Bangkok, Thailand, for more than ten National Volleyball Leagues and Federations. Genius Sports has made rapid progress in Asia in recent months expanding its partnerships with sport associations in different countries.

Led by Genius Sports’ Commercial and Sports Partnership divisions, the two-day workshop provided first-hand demonstrations of the leading technology solutions in world volleyball for compiling digital scoresheets, managing competitions, scouting and analysing performance and engaging modern fans.

VideoCheck, the video referral solution for detecting all fouls and infringements that will be in operation across all AVC competitions in 2019, was set-up at courtside during the workshop for each National Federation to review.

AVC Secretary-General, Shanrit Wongprasert, expressed his satisfaction over the training workshop, commenting: “This workshop was designed to give Federations an opportunity to learn and understand new technology, especially software for advanced scouting and digital scoresheets.”

“Each of them valued the workshop highly due to the experience and insights they have gained from the interactive workshops provided by the experts at our partner Genius Sports,” Wongprasert added.

“Genius Sports has made rapid progress in Asia in recent months, expanding from our long-standing partnerships with the Asian Football Confederation and Philippines Basketball Association to work alongside the AVC and China Volleyball Association,” states the company.
