Victories and challenges for a vigorous sector

A year of great achievements for the sector in Brazil and also for Games Magazine Brasil. For more than ten years, since the closing of bingos in the country, we have kept our focus on the struggle for regaining the regulation of the gaming market in Brazil, supporting serious entities and entrepreneurs who sought in the government and the National Congress a perennial law for the sector.

We changed the printed format of Games Magazine Brasil magazine, which for twelve years was the voice of the gaming segment in Brazil, to the news portal www.gamesbras.com and the transition was a wise decision of a group of professionals that I have the honor of driving and that has transformed the way of communicating what is going on the sector.

The website gained strength and today is the main reference and source of consultation of the gaming market in the country. It was a difficult start, but the consolidation of the project showed the quality of the working team and how much Brazil draws attention not only in the country, but also abroad.

And victory is not just about our news portal. The agglutination of forces around the search for a serious and complete regulation for the sector was crowned with more success with the tireless support of the entrepreneurs of our sector, as well as of Clarion Events Brazil, that saw in the country a unique opportunity to strengthen roots in throughout Latin America.

The two events that took place in 2018 were a great success and first-rate coverage of Games Magazine Brasil. The BgC this year has attracted operators from different parts of the world, regulators, various suppliers of the segment, law firms and gaming certification labs. In the event, it was especially evident to the authorities that Brazil can not fail to look carefully for an economic activity that can generate more than $ 30 billion (US$ 7.7bn) to the country.

In the first week of December the OGS - Online Gaming Summit Brazil - took place, a high level meeting that brought together authorities, regulators, operators and laboratories to discuss the scenario of the online gaming and sports betting industry in Brazil. The event could not arrive at a better time, since a few days before Provisional Measure 846/2018 had been approved in the Congress and followed for presidential sanction.

Everyone was certain that President Michel Temer would sanction it and in the event all showed not only confidence in this, but how much Brazil would win by passing a law for sports betting. Two weeks after the OGS ended, Brasilia met officials for the presidential signing of the sports betting law. It is estimated that a market of more than R $ 5 billion (US$ 1.3bn) in electronic mode only on real sport events, which may grow even more with the society's increasing acceptance for this activity. Therefore, Games Magazine Brasil wants to congratulate Clarion Events Brasil for believing in the country as we, Brazilians, also do.

But the challenges remain and the time has come for Brazilian businessmen to join forces to strengthen the sector. Many of them are examples of success abroad with the latest technology. Not to mention the countless businessmen that are still here struggling and waiting for the regulation to resume their victorious business of the past and make the country an international reference for the activity.

We need a kind of Brasilian feeling. Many local politicians, true patriots, know that Brazil deserves not only employees but also entrepreneurs in our country. That is why they are committed to the opening of the gaming activity. They recognize the time we have lost during these ten years without a gaming sector since the bingos were closed and understand that it is time to act with true patriotism to regulate the industry.

We know that mega entrepreneurs will invest billions of dollars in Brazil, but the great Brazilian entrepreneurs will also be here - or ready to return - as soon as the activity is regulated and becomes an economic sector that generates tens of thousands of jobs and billions of dollars in investments and taxes, as well as entertainment for society.

Dear Brazilian businessmen, Games Magazine Brasil will be here to talk about all this, to be the spokesperson of the activity and to toast with our followers with their good news in this industry.
