The series of regulatory documents from Colombia, the certifications that must exist even before the compulsory license, and especially transparency - with data placed on the Internet so that it can be available to anyone- were central topics of the speech of Karen Sierra-Hughes, Director of Government Relations and Business Development of Latin America and the Caribbean at GLI.
The importance of transparency and prior and post-license control was pointed out by the speaker as some of the difficult points for the regulation of the activity in countries such as Brazil and Peru. "There are people playing, operators in action, but without politics it is difficult to create a fair process. Lack of transparency, integrity and control, that’s why legalizing without regulation of bettings does not solve the issue," Karen concluded.
Alessandro Valente, CEO of Super Affiliates, began his speech with a call for investment in the future gaming sector to be developed in Brazil. Therefore, he defends that the operators invest in professional affiliates. For this to happen he advocates a serious and entirely Brazilian communication, with Portuguese speakers, video lessons and all business information tools.
Valente understands that in Brazil the deal is new, but says that in England, where there are several betting shops og giants operators, there has already been a start in terms of professional affiliates. For the CEO of Super Affiliates, the imminent gaming legalization ma change the scenario, but this is part of the process.
"In Portugal there were cases of affiliates that closed after the regulation, because there is the license issue that it is difficult to foresee. But all that has already happened and is now stable. It's a process, and Brazil has to go through it."
