Gaming is no longer a taboo for regulators and society in Brazil

Once again, Brazil demonstrated its potential to the world by hosting the OGS in São Paulo, in which it was discussed during two days the regulation of sports betting, strengthening of lotteries and, also, the approval of other gaming modalities. With the recent approval of PM846 in the Deputies Chamber and the Senate, the country has taken a big step towards the implementation of sports betting and now we are anxiously awaiting the presidential sanction so that millions of dollars in investments can reach Brazil.

Through high-level discussions about the regulation of online gaming and sports betting that took place during Online Gaming Summit Brasil 2018 (OGS), Games Magazine Brasil is very happy to have participated actively in the event and we are sure that soon the country will join this market, which keeps on growing all over the world.

We can no longer be paddling against the tide in the gaming industry - and I speak about all possible modalities - since it is an active sector of the economy, generating wealth, jobs, tourism and taxes.

Clarion Events was able to gather in the famous Pacaembu stadium, in São Paulo, the main players and experts of the online and betting sector in the country and abroad, as well as bringing together government members who are directly or indirectly involved in the topic.

Propositional and analytical discussions on topics such as integrity, investments, security, marketing, etc., showed that online betting should not be seen as something strange or dangerous, but as an economic activity capable of attracting much investment to Brazil.

Victorious examples have been cited, such as that of UK, Colombia, which is making good progress in this sector, and the United States, that is opening up to this segment.

Brazil is on track for regulating the sector and the maturing of the discussions show that the issue is no longer a taboo for regulators and especially for society, which will benefit most from the adoption of strong regulation.

Games Magazine Brasil came out refreshed after OGS and awaits the next opportunity to meet big names and companies in the industry to celebrate the victory of common sense and the birth of an important sector for Brazil.
