Intralot signs Camelot contract for Illinois lottery

Gaming operator Intralot has signed a new contract with Camelot to provide system solutions and a full suite of end-to-end systems for the Ilinois State Lottery. The deal, which runs through to October 2027, is expected to raise revenue of around US$340 million. “We are delighted to have been awarded this long-term contract,” said John Donahue, CEO of Intralot.

Intralot will provide these services in line with the private management agreement held between the State of Illinois, the Department of the Lottery and Camelot Illinois.

The firm will install technology solutions in approximately 7,500 retail locations, with the transition planned for December 2018.

As the new service provider, Intralot will introduce the next generation of Photon terminals, a clerk-operated lottery terminal and the Genion, a compact ticket checker leveraging the firm’s camera technology. Intralot will also introduce a new player-operated terminal called the WinStation 30 (Win30).

The contractual provisions include digital channel integration points to the central system, high speed printers, a full suite of peripheral devices, a retailer communication network, a retailer financial portal, asset tracking systems, inbound retail call centre management and field service support.

John Donahue, CEO of Intralot, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded this long-term contract to serve the State of Illinois and Camelot Illinois. We have been a successful technology partner with Camelot elsewhere in the world, and together we will prove to be the right combination for the State of Illinois Lottery.”
