The proposition generated a pause among parliamentarians, because "it restricts itself to legalizing exclusively the practice of games of fortune in casinos linked to integrated resorts", as it appears in the document. The Pro-Gaming Parliamentary Front managed to avoid the urgency vote to try to include in the text a greater scope, also approving other modalities games or at least the activity of bingo and online gambling, to be exploited by casino and bingos license holders, which could have their web sites for the games for which they were licensed.
Sources linked to GMB who asked not to be nominated, have assured that they will bar the vote on the urgent request of the tourism law until it reaches a point of convergence with some gaming modes as additional tools to the tourism industry and the collection of taxes to be allocated, as stated in the document, "to the General Fund for Tourism - FUNGETUR, as provided for in Law No. 8,181, dated March 28, 1991, focused on tourism promotion and infrastructure actions in Brazil, as well as the Fund National Public Security - FNSP, as provided by Law No. 10,201, dated February 14, 2001. It is not seen a more effective way to dispel criticism that the roll-out of casinos could increase the already serious crime problem in the country. "
Deputies from The Pro-Gaming Parliamentary Front assured to GMB that some parliamentarians have already been in favor of including bingos in the document and online gaming could be exploited exclusively by casino and bingo operators who win their licenses.
Although they have not yet reached an agreement to this effect, the withdrawal of the urgent request from the agenda had as protagonists some deputies, among them Cesar Halum and João Carlos Bacelar. But it is expected that the request will soon be included in the agenda and the gaming topic should continue to be highlighted as an important source of resources for the country and an additional tool to strengthen tourism in Brazil.
