Brazilian lotteries express their opinion on LOTEX process

ABLE (Brazilian Association of State Lotteries), in the person of its attorney Roberto Brasil Fernandes, went to the TCU (Court of Audit of the Union) on Tuesday (10), to express an opinion on the LOTEX process, in view of the interest in success of the product that will serve as a paradigm for the states. The entity filed a letter addressed to Minister Aroldo Cedraz, rapporteur of the process of instant lotteries in the TCU.

In the letter, signed by attorneys Roberto Brasil Fernandes, Sear Jasu Veras and Marcell Rabello, the entity states that the demonstration is its official duty in the face of the surprise that state lotteries had after the decisions taken by the TCU, and that the objective was to bring the court to the knowledge of relevant information and emphasized:

"We have no doubts about the importance of the concession, especially to put Brazil in tune with the best international practices of the gaming market ensuring new sources of revenue for the federal Union and will certainly serve as a paradigm for operating for all lotteries state."

In addition to filing the letter, Roberto Brasil Fernandes also had an audience with cabinet technicians from Minister of Aroldo Cedraz, who proposed some suggestions and defended the importance of this new product for the Brazilian market, as it will serve as a paradigm for State Lotteries.

The president of ABLE, Roberto Rabello, defends the strengthening of State Lotteries from new technologies that allow more efficient control and result for the State Governments, through the provision of Legal Games and with Social Responsibility.

The same initiative had already been adopted by the Rio de Janeiro Lottery, which likewise awaits the expansion of the product portfolio, which can only be innovated by the Federal Government (according to federal law, as set forth in 02 / STF).

The state lotteries complain that the national monopoly of LOTEX's exploitation of the winning bidder makes it impossible for them to act in the states, since they would be prevented from promoting products with the same concept as LOTEX, which would take revenue from the states, many of them in financial crises, and affect social work institutions that receive transfers from state lotteries.

The LOTEX process was approved by the TCU on March 14, which allowed the federal government to issue decree n° 9,327, officializing the LOTEX concession process and allowing the Ministry of Finance to carry out the auction of the Instant Lottery, which was scheduled for June 14.
