Monografie postpones its Panama event for 2019

The owner of SAGSE Central America and the Caribbean, Giorgio Gennari Litta, confirmed the postponement of the Panama Fair for May 2019. He indicated that the reasons have to do with the delicate situation of the gambling sector in the country.

Monografie, the organizing company of SAGSE Latin America in Buenos Aires and SAGSE Central America and the Caribbean in Panama, informed its decision in a press release.

The company said it was "advised by the Panama Games Control Board and the country's Tourism Board" on the light of the local market situation and ensured that operators have opted to reduce their budgets while hoping to overcome current challenges.

"The control of table games, the Association of Casinos and the Department of Tourism of Panama has always largely supported our event and now advised to suspend the present edition of 2018 that does not mean a cost without adequate return for exhibitors," explained Gennari Litta.

This means that "the fair will be rescheduled for May 2019 and will have a new theme. The entire sector supports the event because it is interested in moving forward after 14 years, and SAGSE remains a Pan-American fair par excellence," he added.

In addition, the owner of Monografie spoke about SAGSE Latin America and predicted that it will take place from September 11 to 13 at the Costa Salguero Exhibition Center. The fair usually happens in November, but as Buenos Aires will host the G20 summit that month and in the same place, they were forced to reschedule.

"Soon we will give ample information about the new format that will have Buenos Aires show that will be an absolutely new activity for the sector", he concluded.
