Mexico close to “true emerge” as major gaming market

With a population of almost 130 million, the opportunity for growth in both online and land-based gaming in Mexico is well documented. BtoBet’s latest industry report also recognises the Mexican scenario does pose a some challenges that ought to be addressed. The company to be present at upcoming Caribbean Gaming Show on April 26–27.

The country is already regulated, and its love of American sports such as the National Football League, the National Hockey League and Major League Baseball, combined with their fondness for European football, means it’s already a market with a devotion to sports.

The country is also attracting big interest from operators looking to explore the technological perspectives, with Mexico being LatAm’s second largest smartphone market after Brazil. With the number of smartphone and internet users constantly rising, the country’s scenario looks positive.

BtoBet’s latest industry report, while positive, also recognises the Mexican scenario does pose a some challenges that ought to be addressed. Despite the current regulatory framework drawing a lot of criticism, this shouldn’t be posed as the only problem that is hindering the Mexican market.

BtoBet’s Chairman Alessandro Fried said that “Mexico could well emerge to be a major player in the whole Latin American market, once the current regulatory framework is revamped”.

BtoBet’s also has stated that Kostandina Zafirovska will be travelling to Cancun to attend this month’s Caribbean Gaming Show 26 – 27 April. Operators will also have the opportunity to meet with the firm’s team to better understand how the Neuron Sports and Neuron Gaming platforms could best suite their operations in Mexico and the whole Latin American region.
