Gabriel Castro, President of Real Poker

"Our portfolio of international casinos has been growing steadily"

(Exclusive GMB) - The president of Real Poker, one of the leading Brazilian casino tables and chip manufacturers, talks about his company and how much it has been growing, even without the regulation of the activity in Brazil. “We are positioned as leaders in this market, where we are suppliers of BSOP and WSOP, with international standards, and we have been very well accepted by very well-known casinos”, said Castro.

GMB - How can a Brazilian company that manufactures tables and chips for casinos manage to survive in a country where this type of activity is still not allowed?
Gabriel Castro - We have somewhat different views on this picture in Brazil. One of them is the provision of tables and chips for poker, as the country is very strong in this area and our performance is growing more and more. In the area of casinos, we have grown significantly in the Latin American market and for non-profit gambling initiatives, such as hotels and other spaces that create themed parties and environment, and buy roulette tables, blackjack and other games for their promotions. This is also a way of testing our products.

And what has been the response of this segment to the proposal of Real Poker?
We are positioned as leaders in this market, where we are suppliers of BSOP and WSOP, with international standards, and we have been very well accepted by very well-known casinos. We have already sold to the Enjoy Group, from Chile, for example, and to UK casinos. That is, our portfolio of international casinos has been growing steadily. Besides the very good quality and design, we have the exchange issue. Our products are very competitive due to the devaluation of our currency against the dollar. Real Poker customers attest that we have excellent prices against competitors from other countries, since all production is national, based on our currency, the real.

What about the Brazilian market itself, how do you see the current situation in the country and what is your expectation of meeting the demand for Real Poker solutions with a future regulation of the activity?
The regulation is very good, but since it will be a new initiative for more than 60 years and with few companies like ours, I believe we need some protection at an early stage. I think manufacturers of tables, machines and chips should have some kind of protection based on taxation, because from the point of view of quality and design, Brazil is on the same level as countries that already have the a regulated activity. And Real Poker is on this level and we can compete on an equal footing. At the main trade fairs of the sector that I visit abroad, I see that in mass products as well as in the most elaborate and high luxury ones and with highly sophisticated design, our solutions are innovative and able to meet end to end with very competitive prices. We are located in Goiânia and this is strategic because we are in the center of the country. Thus, the logistics are perfect for our business and to meet with agility and attractive prices to send our products to any point in Brazil by road and by air to our overseas customers.
