Sports lottery and new games to finance the Ministry of Security in Brazil

Minister Raul Jungmann (Public Security) said that security resources should be financed by the sports lottery and new games that should be announced later this year by Caixa Econômica Federal. According to Jungmann, the government will, within the next 10 days, issue a provisional measure to allocate a budget amount to the area. He did not reveal the values but said they were 'bulky'.

"There is a value, but it will be announced by the President of the Republic when the MP is signed. They will be huge resources and I hope that in the upcoming days we will have every bureaucratic circuit done," said the minister, after a ceremony in the Planalto Palace. According to Jungmann, part of the resources will come through Caixa Econômica Federal.

"These resources come mainly through the sports lotteries of Caixa, including new games that will still be announced," he said. "The money is already well separated, this is solved. What we have to conclude is the negotiation with Planning, Finance, and the Civil House," he added.

The funds will go to the National Security Fund, which is already in the process of reformulation. Before, most of the operations were done by agreements that, because of the restriction of the electoral period, can no longer be carried out.

"As it has passed the period that was allowed to agree - April 7 - we have the possibility to do through the bottom," he explained. "We will have resources for this year that will be mainly applied in depth, within what we call a management contract. That is, I pass the money to states and municipalities, but in return, I want the reduction of homicide rates, better training of the police, and information data that are being partly evaded," Jungmann said.

The minister also stressed that there will be no onlending and funding for those states that do not enter into the systems of prison information and about violence and crime.
