In the first quarter of this year, Caixa's lotteries totaled more than S$985 million, an increase of 19.2% compared to the same period in 2017, which was US$805 million.
According to Caixa, in March the collection reached US$327 million, growth of almost 16% compared to March last year.
Mega-Sena continues to lead betting sales, with US$136 million; Lotofácil comes in second with US$100 million; and Quina in third, with US$57.5 million.
"In the first quarter, we presented the best lottery performance in the last five years. Close to US$300 million were given in prizes to more than 69 million bettors, and transfered US$475 million to social areas such as education, sports, public safety, culture and health," said the vice president of Government Funds and Lotteries of Caixa, Valter Nunes.
