GMB - How do you prepare for a new edition of SAGSE? What new features can both visitors and exhibitors see?
Giorgio Gennari Litta - This is a very special year because the historical SAGSE date in November had to adapt to the realization of the G20 in Buenos Aires and all that implies a city filled by international delegations, with all mayor exhibition centers occupied for meetings.
There was no option, and only this year after 25 editions, we are organizing the show from September 11 to 13, we know that this created inconveniences in several companies, however SAGSE will continue to be the largest showcase in Latin America and the flagship show of the sector.
This edition of SAGSE is very special because among the international delegations it will be present the Gaming Authority of Malta (MGA), that chose SAGSE to enter the Latin American market with their know-how in the online gaming market.
What can you tell us about the conferences that will shape the academic part of the event, with the Alpha Boot Camp and the presence of the Malta Gaming Authority?
The MGA - Malta Gaming Authority - will be in charge of a conference cycle, exclusively for pre-registered operators, which includes topics such as: Licensing and compliance scheme; Prevention of money laundering; Protection of the player; Data Protection; Cryptocurrencies / The test environment of distributed accounting technology; Artificial intelligence and the future of online gaming. On the other hand SIGMA will organize the Alpha Boot Camp, a meeting reserved for operators, in which will be discussed: Differences and similarities between the Latin American and European online gaming market; Tour of the latest updates on regulatory issues: challenges and opportunities; the example of Europe: gaming, blockchain and distributed accounting technology.
How many exhibiting companies are confirmed for this 2018 edition and which sectors of the gaming industry will be represented?
SAGSE will have the most representative exhibitors in the industry, as every year. In addition, SAGSE will provide the exhibitors of this edition with the membership card of the SAGSE Business Club, with which they will be able to access benefits and important advantages in the dissemination and visibility of the upcoming events of SAGSE and thus belong to the largest gaming business community in Latin America.
What do you think will be the technological innovations or the sectors that will present the most outstanding novelties this year?
I think that in this edition the main attractions will be Online Gaming and the Sports Betting; but obviously SAGSE brings together the most outstanding exponents of the industry, so we have to wait and see what surprises they have prepared for us, there is always something new, an ace up their sleeve!
With respect to visitors? What expectations do you have regarding quantity and destinations from where you will visit the event this year?
SAGSE aims at the quality of visitors, as it is a professional event that works in synergy with the most relevant shows in the world. The audience in Latin America waits for SAGSE and many operators have already registered for the conference program, hopefully it will take place for everyone! The international nature of SAGSE makes many visitors come from other countries. We hope that this year our public will reaffirm and keep growing; we are very confident.
As experts involved in the Argentine and South American gaming industry for many years, how do you see the industry at a local and regional level with, for example, the opening of new sectors such as online gaming in Colombia?
No doubt that the online game has a long way to go and the kickoff is happening in SAGSE, the choice that the Malta Authority has made of our event is not casual, Argentina is a great showcase, a very visited country and SAGSE It is recognized worldwide. In Argentina, the regulation is being advanced so that online gambling can be allowed, and from that moment the sector will have an important development.
With regard to Brazil, what expectations do you have regarding visitors who can come to SAGSE this year? And what can produce a possible legalization of the online gaming after the presidential elections next October?
We have always had visitors from Brazil, and fluctuate according to the local situation of the industry, hopefully this year in which many operators are attentive to the changes that may occur in the upcoming elections visit us. They will undoubtedly need updating and will have it with our conference program. It is a huge market eager for new technologies and innovation and we are ready. It is a demanding market that requires language adjustments in relation to the rest of Latin America but without doubt the developers are already thinking about it.
