Juan Delvalle, firm's representative in LatAm

"With regulation, Aposta365 could have physical stores in Brazil"

Just a year after its launch, Aposta365 participates in SAGSE this week in Buenos Aires. Juan Delvalle, representative of the company for Latin America, makes in this interview with GMB a summary of this period, its wide presence in the region and the strong interest in Brazil. 'Undoubtedly, our main target in Latin America is Brazil,' he said and even stated that they do not rule out having their own betting shops in the country.

GMB - Completing almost one year since the launch of Aposta365, what balance do you make of this period since its release to the market?
Juan Delvalle -
It seems that it was yesterday when we launched this dream that was growing until today, receiving many good surprises, now expanding our operations in Latin America with our based in Curaçao, where we have our license. The balance of this first year is fantastic. We are going to end a great first year.

In which countries are you operating and how is the situation of Aposta365 in each of them?
We are entering Brazil, we also have some operations in Paraguay, and Peru is a market to which we are aiming, making the corresponding efforts to be able to operate as it should. In addition, we are also working to enter Colombia. Without a doubt, Brazil is our main target when it comes to Latin America.

How is the Brazilian player if you had to describe it?
He is a very passionate player, but intelligent. They play with passion but they use their heads a lot, as they are also very technical and the vast majority knows a lot about the game. It is a very attractive and entertaining market.

Besides football, which we know they are very passionate of, what other sports does the player from Brazil like?
Obviously football is the number 1, but basketball also attracts a lot of attention from customers. And, to our surprise, we also have a lot of movement with some typical sports from the United States, such as ice hockey. It is to emphasize that the region is beginning to generate interest in American sports.

It was announced that in December Brazil will have a meeting evento about online gaming that, surely, arouses interest in a brand like Aposta365, is it like that?
Absolutely. For us, it is very attractive. We will be present supporting this type of events, which are important for the sector. As a brand, and it is a dream that all operators share, we expect the regulation of the sector in Brazil. Anything we can do to help in promoting that, we will be there.

What news do you have about that process? How do you see it and with what expectations?
What we all know is that regulation seems to be always about to materialize but it is not done. It is the eternal satus quo in which we stand with respect to Brazil, but we do not lose hope. At any time it can be released and we will be there. We know the same thing as everyone: it will be released at any time, but until it does, we can not do anything.

You are already working in Brazil. How would a market regulation benefit you? Because there could also be more competition from, for example, new local operators ...
Competition is the best thing that can happen to any business. We have a very good quality product that can compete with any platform. In that sense, we are very proud. Having a regulation, the online sector at first and may be later the physical one like casinos, being able to have a physical presence in Brazil is a very attractive alternative for any operator. Once there is a regulated market, we would be very expectant to be able to have physical betting stores in Brazil.
