Rodrigo Maia, Chamber of Deputies president

"Casinos will double the number of international tourists in Brazil"

Brazil for the approval. One thing is to approve games that have a direct relationship with tourism, another is to enable those that end up making imposible this strategy of bringing more casinos and investments to the country,' said the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Rodrigo Maia, at the 40-year meeting of the Clube do Feijão Amigo (Friend Bean Club).

Among the more than 400 guests who attended the evento last Wednesday (12), was the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Rodrigo Maia. During his speech, Maia recalled the challenges and objectives that the House still needs to vote for a better tourism development in Brazil, such as the release of gaming and the approval of the Tourism Law Project.

"We are discussing the release of the gambling sector. However, it is still needed to generate a move throughout Brazil for the approval. One thing is to approve games that have a direct relationship with tourism, another is to enable those that end up making imposible this strategy of bringing more casinos and investments to the country,"said Maia. "Once approved, the PL of Casinos will double the number of international tourists," he added.

The Tourism Law Bill, which will be voted only after the presidential electoral process, and the increase in the participation of foreign capital in the air sector are two other factors that Rodrigo Maia consider important. "I have been working permanently with Anac so that we can also enable the entry of new international airlines. This is the case of Norwegian, which should start operations in 2019," he said.

The president of the Chamber of Deputies still made a proposal to the candidate for governor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes. He called on Paes, once elected, to visit Europe in search of new airlines to operate in RIOgaleão.

"We will go back to packing the RIOgaleão always working together. If you have a trip that surely we will do is to Europe in search of more low cost airlines, so that they bring their operations to Brazil. Here is the invitation to Eduardo Paes," ended Maia.
