Minister of Tourism urges future governors to release casinos in Brazil

'Brazil has the potential for the tourism industry to double in size in a short time, and for this we must advance in a set of measures that will create a favorable business environment with topics as foreign capital in airline companies and liberation of the casinos,' said the Minister of Tourism, Vinícius Lummertz, at the opening of the 18th edition of Termatalia - International Festival of Thermal Tourism at the Recanto Cataratas Events Center.

"It is time for tourism to occupy its space and, for this, it must be seen by the future governors to be elected in October, with a new look and a new perception." This was the tone of the speech of the Minister of Tourism, Vinícius Lummertz, at the opening ceremony of the 18th edition of Termatalia - International Festival of Thermal Tourism at the Recanto Cataratas Events Center.

According to Lummertz, it is necessary to move forward so that there is not only a new look as a logistics activity, but a greater attention and a set of measures that will create a favorable business environment. For the minister, the time has come for the environment of deregulation that favors the sector. Lummertz believes that Brazil needs to modernize its strategic planning to implement these actions in the medium and long term.

"Brazil has the potential for this industry to double in size in a short time, but for that we have to reduce costs, take electronic visas to other countries, implement the licensing program for national and marine parks, favor historic cities and the theme parks, and not forgetting to advance in topics as foreign capital in airline companies and liberation of the casinos," he said.

The thermal tourism was highlighted in the speeches of the mayor of Foz do Iguaçu, Chico Brasileiro, as well as in the messages given by the President of Termatalia, Alejandro Rubin, Itaipu financial director Mario Cecato, and the Secretary of Sport and Tourism of Paraná, João Barbiero, who highlighted the potential of Foz do Iguaçu.

After the ceremony, authorities visited some of the 80 booths occupied by about 200 exhibitors that participate in Termatalia, which brings together representatives of 36 countries among authorities, operators and journalists.
