Tourism in Brazil can improve with the release of gaming

With more than 70 years of prohibition of games of chance in Brazil the subject comes again to the fore surrounded of much controversy because there are people against and many others in favor of the legalization. The truth is that, even if there are opinions against the liberation of casinos, they can bring several advantages to the population and also to our economy, since Brazil is facing one of its biggest economic crises in history today.

Prior to the probation of this type of games, Brazil had about 71 casinos where about 54 thousand people worked and which generated, in taxes for the public coffers, something around 400 billion reais per year (US$ 103bn). When they were banned, thousands of people became unemployed and players who enjoyed this mode or traveled outside Brazil for fun or were content with the online platforms that offered games of chance. With this, the platforms have grown substantially in the Brazilian market and several names come out as Betboo, which offers several services for everyone who is looking for fun online.

The success of these platforms is also due to the fact of several advantages associated with being able to play from anywhere, earn bonuses and offers frequently, among others. And since this platforms are based outside of Brazil they do not undergo any type of taxation or inspection , which generates several damages for our country.

Casinos and Tourism

Even with several people being against legalization and arguing that this will increase money laundering and addictions, for example, the government itself has already concluded that this is not exactly so. Casinos can mean a better development in our economy without cons, so it is enough to have adequate and strict supervision so that it does not get out of the control of the authorities. According to the deputy of the DEM party of Bahia, Elmar Nascimento, legalization would initially generate something around 80 million reais (US$ 20.5m).

The deputy also defended that once legalized there will be tourism generated by gaming with people from various countries and also Brazilian players that will move that market and also a generation of different jobs - which would benefit the country greatly since the number of unemployed is currently one of the largest in history. And, of course, there will still be an increase in the economy with taxation of these activities, which would be very welcome in the current economic crisis facing the country.

In short, with the legalization of casinos in Brazil, the country will become a point of tourist interest since this market is responsible for most of the trips around the world, as we can see the example of Las Vegas. And there will also be an increase in the number of jobs, economic development and more. These advantages would be very welcome in Brazil at the moment.
