According to ‘O Globo’

Government would not have liked what it found in the teams contracts with Caixa

Before announcing the end of Caixa's sponsorship of 25 clubs, the government audited the contracts and did not like what it saw. According to the blog of journalist Ancelmo Gois at ‘O Globo’, 'he had a lot of 'consultant' taking part of the money and some clubs were not even with the Treasury. With the return of the State, this weekend no club entered the field with the mark of the Caixa in his uniform.

Flamengo, for example, that grabbed the biggest slice of the cake ($ 6,5 million/year), played yesterday, against the Bangu, with the clean red-black robe.

As we know, Minister Paulo Guedes has already made it clear that Caixa's funding could be invested in other ways, rather than football.

"Sometimes it's possible to do things a hundred times better with less resources than spending on advertising on football teams," he said.

The statement of the minister was made exactly in the possession of Pedro Guimarães as president of the Caixa econômica federal. Guedes gave no further details on the subject. All clubs are now on hold.

But this weekend came a novelty in this novel. According to O Globo columnist Ancelmo Gois, before announcing the end of Caixa's sponsorship of 25 clubs, the government audited the contracts - and he did not like what he saw.

He had a lot of "consultant" taking a part of the money and some clubs were not even with the Treasury.
