In dialogue with a local radio program, the entrepreneur reiterated that it will be a very important undertaking for Punta del Este and for Uruguay, and promised to work to bring more people to the main Uruguayan resort from new destinations.
Asked about the building conditions of the former hotel San Rafael, which would force it to be demolished practically in its entirety, he said the decision will be taken shortly, but confirmed that the first technical studies indicate that the structure "is destroyed." If it is demolished, it will be rebuilt exactly as it is today, assured Cipriani.
Regarding the effective start of the construction of the megaproject, he confirmed that the beginning of the first stage is scheduled for next August. If developed without any problems, he foresees that this stage is completed and can be inaugurated for the summer of 2021.
On the other hand, he revealed that steps have already been taken to get the Executive Power to authorize the installation of a casino in the future complex, which is expected to be completed before the next national elections. He stressed that the casino "is fundamental" for the planned project.
