Stay of public in private suites in Rio’s Carnival expected to increase 30% thanks to on-site casino

Camarote+Brasil 2020 is being planned by Incentivo Brasil and brings an innovative topic to the Rio Carnival: casino. The founder of the VIP organizing company, Alexis de Vaulx, is preparing several games for the public to enjoy during the parade breaks, including a poker tournament with an estimated prize pool of US$ 36,000. GMB exclusively talked with him, who guess that people would stay on average 30% longer at the event thanks to the casino.

The choice of the topic for Camarote+Brasil 2020, conceived by Incentivo Brasil's founder, Alexis de Vaulx, has generated a lot of curiosity and excitement from the public that wants to go to the parades of the samba schools in Marquês de Sapucaí during the 2020 Carnival, in Rio de Janeiro. This will be the first time that the place will house a casino with over 200m².

Vaulx came up with this idea by learning about CASINO EXPERIENCE's services at a luxury event in Sao Paulo. “I found the creative and innovative option for the guests there. I found that CASINO EXPERIENCE is a pioneer in the application of this service in Brazil and is already successful in the U.S. and in several countries,” he recalled.

In this space of pure luxury, locally known as ‘camarotes’, will be featured original roulette tables, black jack, poker, craps, baccara, and slot machines, all coming straight from Las Vegas. The event will offer the help of professionals, the dealers, if the guests need some tips to get in the game.

Games will not involve money so will be fully legal under Brazilian law. Only poker, legalized in the country, will have tournaments every day during the Carnival. “To participate, the player has to pay a buy-in, of R$ 3,000 (US$ 730), with 80% of the total sold going to the prize pool. The intention is to reach 120 players in the four days of the event, on February 22, 23 and 24, with a final table during the champions parades, on February 29,” explains the creator. The prize is estimated at R$ 150,000 (US$ 36,000). Thanks to the casino's presence, Vaulx believes that people will stay an average of 30% more time at the event.

While the casino's goal at Camarote+Brasil has always been to provide high-end, sophisticated entertainment to select customers, Vaulx believes legalizing gambling will help the Marvelous City's financial and tourism growth. "Of course, the return of casinos will greatly benefit Rio de Janeiro for tourism and, consequently, for the city's economy," he says.

Gambling regulation is currently on the agenda and Vaulx is betting on the international projection that this may give to the municipality. When asked if he thinks cariocas and tourists will embrace the idea, he said: “Absolutely, because Rio de Janeiro is the face of the casino in Brazil!”
