When changing of mind is evolution, let legal gaming come!

“It is to commemorate the change of position of the powerful media Folha de São Paulo, which admits that the barriers to the return of gaming in Brazil are over. The hypocrisy is that seventy years later there is still discussion about the ills of gambling. The whole world is conducive to gambling and persisting in the rigidity of opinions as if they are definitive is unnatural,” says in a column in Diario de Jundiai, Jose Renato Nalini, the Rector of Uniregistral and postgraduate professor at Uninove.

Brazil is still a hypocritical country. It was obscurantist hypocrisy the extinction of the casinos in the face of the charisma of the First Lady. At that time, 72 years have passed, more than seventy thousand Brazilians lost their jobs. It was the waiters, cooks, operators, and dealers who could not support their families. And also, singers, comedians, clowns, dancers and other participants of the shows presented at Urca, Poços de Caldas, Santos and other Brazilian cities.

The hypocrisy is that seventy years later there is still discussion about the ills of gambling. What game, pale face? Lotteries are always full of Brazilians trying 'big luck'. Horse racing is still popular. Jogo do bicho, it is said, is as honest as it can be. Nor can it be called a misdemeanor because it has been overruled by custom. No Brazilian thinks this game is illegal.

But times have changed. The whole world favors gambling and the rich are the ones who benefit from it. I have already said that in St. Moritz, in the charming Hotel Kempinsky, upon arrival, you receive a wealth of material encouraging a visit to the Casino. Invitation for drinks, dinner, some chips, chocolate and a wealth of material explaining which games are available.
A crowded house, just like in Las Vegas, a city that has become a planetary tourist hub. Only in Brazil persists the obscurantist attitude of prohibiting gambling. But it is intensely practiced. The digital age has provided a vast menu of options and we even have champions in poker.

Internet gambling is a common thing, and the winnings are destined for the 'poor' England or the 'defenseless' United States.

This is why the change of position of the powerful media Folha de São Paulo (FSP) is commemorated. In an editorial of 20.10.19, admits that the barriers to the return of gaming in Brazil are over. Controlled, enforced, but a source of revenue that is not given to the government to ignore. Especially when stagnation persists, there are millions of unemployed people who could proficiently perform the multiple roles of the gaming sector.

FSP's honest and forthright stance is an example of a change of heart that means evolution. Persisting in the rigidity of opinions as if they are final is unnatural at a time when mutations are inevitable and the unexpected surprises us at any moment. Let legal gaming come!
