Modernization of sector’s financial terminal

CAIXA Technology division to renew all lottery equipment from 2020

In his presentation at Nação CAIXA Loterias that was held last week, the Vice President of Caixa’s Technology and Digital division, Claudio Salituro, addressed the main demand of lottery entrepreneurs, which is the need for modernization of the TFL equipment (lottery terminals), printers, and pinpads (password entry device) for the sector’s network.

Vice President Cláudio Salituro announced the acquisition of new equipment at the event that ended last week. “When I arrived, I saw that TFL equipment was obsolete with six, nine years of use. There are more than 48,000 TFL, 13,000 lottery retailers and 70,000 people involved and working. I immediately understood that maintenance alone would not solve the problem. Maintenance was really only postponing the inevitable. The renewal of equipment is necessary!” said the vice president of Technology and Digital.

Salituro explained that the ongoing bidding brings a detailed revision of the technical specification of the equipment, valued with the participation of lottery retailers, who had the opportunity to be heard about their daily needs. “We can add value with technology and novelty, but we will only build value if the lottery participates in this evolution with CAIXA”, he said.

The vice president announced the delivery of the first 10,000 new TFLs in the new specification at the end of February, and another 31,000 for March. In the meantime, maintenance is ensured in a faster way with support, for example, in replacing parts purchased from new suppliers, not just from one large supplier as used to be.

“It's time to do a real, genuine job here, to attend the lottery retailers that is CAIXA's main arm. Without them, CAIXA cannot meet the amount of services and customers from all over the country. We need to create a new and perennial process so that this situation will never be reached again. Otherwise, everything being done today will make no sense at all. The president and vice-presidents are focused on resolving this issue definitively,” he concluded.
