GMB - What are your expectations on upcoming Online Gaming Summit Brazil? Which services / product of your company would stand out in this new market that opens in the country?
IIana Klein -
We are full of expectations, from the region. Of course Brazil is the largest market and we been following up for very long time. The opportunity is huge and the value of regulating process in the region, including Mexico, Colombia Argentina and Brazil is definitely a tendency that we consider of high potential and of endless opportunity for big players with the track record we hold in regulated markets in particular.

What is Playtech's consideration of the Brazilian market? Do you consider it a great opportunity?
Any market has its advantages and disadvantages, we sick and believe in regulatory environment for healthy business. Is our core business and our truth expertise. Our value can be mainly reflected in fully regulated markets where we can implement the most advances tools together with experience in the marketing, and operational areas. Brazil obviously due the size is massive and for sure a big opportunity.

Could you preview the main considerations of your lecture “How do gaming control and money laundering prevention mechanisms work in practice”?
When regulation enters, technology can help a lot. Today the technology behind any ecommerce business is based on machine learning, behavioral prediction and data analysis. This will serve now regulator and operators and this is a huge advantage against the darkness provided by a non regulated environment in which all this rich tools are not used in benefit of the players.

The Brazilian Congress has legalized sports betting and now we are in the process of regulation. How do you consider its progress? What are your expectations now?
We are open to help, to serve as a source of experience and technological capabilities and looking forward to any cooperation. The process can be long but in the long terms the market stabilized, became secure and contributing the economy with the right elements from very well experienced regulated market in Latin America and Europe this can be a task full of examples of success.

If you could suggest to the Ministry of Economy 3 tips for successful regulation, especially on the subject of controls and enforcement, which ones would be?
-Learn from other regulatory environments
-Use technology against violation of the law  instead of restriction
-Promote healthy competition and variety

Is this kind of meeting for knowledge sharing something that the country needs to prevent people from being misinformed about the "dangers" of the gaming industry?
The dangers are present in a non regulated environment, once the regulation is created and the tools are available the dangers can be capted/can be controlled limited and avoided. Such thing does not happen in the absence of regulation.

Online gaming seems to be the fastest growing segment of the market in the world today. Do you think this is dangerous for the present and future of the physical gaming?
Is a way to look at things, but is the natural process of our word in any communication process work environment and for sure entertainment sector. The idea is to learn to be complemented by this and not damaged. Omni-channel capabilities can help a lot actually the retail to be pushed by the online side.

The year is about to end… what do you think about the growth of the gaming sector in Latin America and how was 2019 for Playtech?
We are dramatically growing in the area, we believe and focus in the market and we see the strategy moving forwarded. We are happy with the extremely successful Caliente agreement in Mexico seeing our work together positioning the largest online gaming operation in latam, by a local operator. And very excited about the new relation with Wplay in Colombia with no lower expectation for the short and long term.
