LeoVegas brings back the US$ 10,500 award for tech women

LeoVegas Mobile Gaming Group has started the application period for its LeoRegulus Award, an annual event aimed to highlight the brightest talents in the technology and to encourage more women to seek a career in the tech industry. Any organisation, initiative, or person who is actively working to increase the interest in tech among women can apply up to next November 30th.

The LeoRegulus Award is a scholarship of SEK 100,000 (US$ 10,500) and the winner will be chosen by a 4-member jury. The award was initiated last year when Teknikkvinnor won the main prize and Techella received a "Rising Star" recognition.

Teknikkvinnor is a network that organises lectures, training and consulting for women in tech. Techella in an initiative that supports female programmers and developers in the Helsingborg region.

Regulus is the brightest star in the constellation Leo. In that same spirit, LeoRegulus aims to illuminate the top talents in the industry and inspire more women to pursue a career in tech.

The technology sector in Sweden is booming; however, women still constitute less than 25% of the entire workforce. In order to give a small, but hopefully important, contribution that will inspire more women to pursue a career in the technology sector, LeoVegas established the LeoRegulus Award in November 2018 and is awarded to bright talents annually. The scholarship of 100,000 SEK (US$ 10,500) will be granted to an initiative, organisation or person promoting an increased interest in and awareness of tech among women.

Any organisation, initiative, or person who is actively working to increase the interest in tech among women can apply. The application period ends on 30th November 2019.
