Paulo Saad - Bandeirantes Communication Group VP

“We want legality, it is natural that we support legalization of all gambling in Brazil”

During recent OGS, Paulo Saad, Vice President of Grupo Bandeirantes, talked with GMB about the gaming industry in Brazil and strongly advocated the legalization of all activity in the country. “We don't like hypocrisy and Brazilian law is hypocritical,” he said reinforcing its position presented during the mediation of a panel on communication at the event. “Brazil is an excellent market and should be among the top five in the world in this sector,” says Saad.

Why did such a big group like Bandeirantes get effectively involved and understand the importance of the regulation of the gambling sector in Brazil?
I think it's a Group thing and it's not gambling specifically. We want truths, we want real things and transparency. We do not like hypocrisy and Brazilian law is hypocritical. So, we stand for what we consider right. For us, the release of the gaming sector is freedom of enterprise, freedom for the user to choose to play or not and responsibility of who operates the activity. Therefore, we do not want illegality, we want legality and that’s why it is only natural that we support the legalization of all gambling in Brazil. It is to stop hypocrisy, to bring into the real world and into the sun all this segment.

And how to eliminate the demonization of a sector that has always been so criticized?
I said and I repeat: There is to be a strategic communication process that shows to the public the benefits, concerns and responsibilities of any gaming operator in the world who will come to Brazil.

Are events like Clarion's enlightening in this regard?
I think so. Clarion is a discussion emulator. Now we need to broaden this debate to a more general public. For now, Clarion brings us together to talk and we have to bring this theme to society.

And will Bandeirantes be available to bring the issue to society?
No doubt. Always defending the truth and the clarity of ideas. We want to join the critical mass to strengthen activity and end the demonization of the gaming industry.
