Marathonbet is Real Madrid's first Russian partner in its 117-year history. Since its inception in 1997, Marathonbet has offered live and pre-betting online betting on a wide variety of sports and events. One of the alternatives is to select Russian fans and take them to Spain to meet and greet the current players and past idols of the Real Madrid.
The regional deal with Real Madrid is not the first betting site initiative to gain exposure using Spanish football. The brand holds Sevilla's master shirt sponsorship, for which it will pay € 5 million annually in a two-year contract.
For Real Madrid, the deal with Marathonbet further expands the club's already extensive portfolio of regional sponsors, despite being a pioneering initiative in Russia. The list is made up of brands such as CaixaBank, China Citic Bank, Coca-Cola, Codere, ManBetx, Palladium Hotel Group, Toilet, Goat Solan and Tecate.
