IGT and SG authorities meet with Economy Ministry officials to move forward with LOTEX

An official meeting between the members of the Secretary of Public Policy, Planning, Energy and Lottery (SECAP) and important executives of IGT and Scientific Games that make up the Estrela Instantânea Consortium to align and move forward with work related to LOTEX. The CEO of IGT International, Walter Bugno, and the President of Strategic Accounts of SG, Michael Conforti, are some of the participants of the meeting.

On behalf of SECAP/ME will be present Alexandre Manoel Angelo da Silva (Secretarial of Planning, Energy and Lottery), Waldir Eustáquio Marques Junior (Undersecretary) and Adhemar Ranciaro Neto (General Coordinator).

Along with the CEO of IGT International, Walter Bugno, will be Roberto Quattrini, Country Manager Brazil and representative of the Estrela Instantânea Consortium, while the President of Strategic Accounts of Scientific Games, Michael Conforti, will be accompanied by Nicholas Spahr, Vice President of the same area within the company.

Although the topics of the meeting were not officially reported, the idea of the presence of such high authorities of the winning companies of the Brazilian instant lottery concession is to present themselves officially to the local authorities of the Brazilian Ministry of Economy , and align an agenda to advance strongly with all the work that will require having the output of the product ready by mid-2020.

Last October 22nd, the Estrela Instantânea Consortium, made up of international firms International Game Technology (IGT) and Scientific Games International (SGI), leaders of the world instant lottery market, was declared the winner of the auction (there was only one presentation), having offered the minimum price stipulated by the Ministry of Economy and the National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES).

The consortium will pay an initial installment of R$ 96.9 million (US$ 23m) and seven annual installments of R$ 103 million (US$ 24.5m), corrected by the National Consumer Price Index (INPC). The concession period is 15 years.
