GMB - How was this sponsorship born?

Victor Simpson - Fortaleza CE has a commercial sector that works exactly to attract potential sponsors. The demand for large companies has grown exponentially since the club proved to be an excellent investment opportunity for its sponsors.

Why do you believe NetBet chose Fortaleza over other Brazilian clubs?

The Fortaleza marketing team has done an excellent job with its sponsors regarding the activation of the sponsorship. We believe that stamping the mark on the team uniform is only the first step in a contract that will be activated from the most creative forms throughout its lifetime.

How was the repercussion among the partners and fans

The best possible as the online betting market has grown a lot here in Brazil and is directly linked to sports.

What are the limits of the agreement? How far can NetBet go?

The contractual provisions can not be disclosed, but we can say that it is only the beginning of a great partnership between NetBet and Fortaleza.

Would the club have accepted sponsorship of a sports betting site without the bill passed in December? Was Fortaleza legally advised before accepting the agreement?

All partnerships made by the club are supported by our legal sector. The legal predictions are previously studied by our lawyers who endorse each contract with the club.

What is the feeling of being a pioneer in these kind of deals now in Brazil?

It means a lot to Fortaleza CE. It confirms that the club is an excellent investment for its sponsors although they are from sectors that are starting in that market. It represents the status that the Fortaleza reached when managing the sponsorship agreement with its partners.

Was there any opposition within the club regarding issues such as ethics, religion, or conflict of interest?

There was no rejection of this sponsorship.

Without mentioning numbers, does the deal economically classifies as excellent and advantageous?

What we can talk about in that terms is that both NetBet and Fortaleza CE are satisfied and with a good expectation of what is ahead this season. It is the beginning of a great partnership.

Is there a fixed amount of sponsorship defined or will there be any prizes for bets placed on the site or for goals achieved by the club?

Unfortunately, the contractual provisions can not be revealed by mutual agreement between the parties, but I reiterate that this is a great business opportunity for both parties.

Do you believe that this first step taken by Fortaleza can be followed by the other clubs that have lost the fear of being sponsored by a betting site, now that Caixa has left football?

Possibly yes. It is something we have already seen in other major leagues around the world and it must be a natural flow here in Brazil. It is important that Fortaleza is opening this market.

In addition to NetBet, have you talked to other interested betting sites before?

The conversation with NetBet was quick and effective. The club also identified NetBet as a major player in its market and was very interested in this partnership that came to fruition.
