"Santa Catarina has extraordinary potential to develop innovative actions in tourism, but we have to pursue our goals, we need to identify good opportunities and decentralize the State's actions to ensure that they can be realized," said Governor Moisés, adding that the sector already represents about 13% of GDP in Santa Catarina.
Investing in tourism is one of the flags of the current Government. Recently assumed as head of Santur - which will absorb the functions related to the sector of the Secretariat of Tourism, Culture and Sport (SOL) -, Flavia Didomênico argues that it is necessary to increase the offer of options to the visitors while it is necessary to treat the vocations tourism in a technical and innovative way. A partnership with the group in Santa Catarina would allow, for example, to attract more international participation.
Pariente stressed that, just like Japan, where the group already operates, Brazil is seen as a promising market for new investments. "It is an immense and strategically important market for any operator. The purpose of this trip is to know the possibilities the state offers, including also the legislation that will guarantee the stability that the investor needs for future business," he said.
During Monday’s afternoon (18), the president of Santur accompanied the investors to visit one of the biggest concert halls in the South of Brazil, located in Greater Florianópolis. The owner of the establishment, Sandro José Petry, highlighted the importance of the partnership to place Santa Catarina on the route of major tourism events generating income and development for the sector and for the state.
Likewise, the State has ensured that it will be a facilitator in attracting and consolidating initiatives and ventures that help further develop the local tourism sector. Also attending the meeting at Casa D'Agronomica were the Secretary of State of the Civil House, Douglas Borba, and the Senator of the Republic, Dário Berger.
