Presidents' meeting in Washington

Jair Bolsonaro and Donald Trump may discuss today the casinos reopening in Brazil

The president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, will have today a meeting with the US president, Donald Trump. It is speculated that one of the themes to discuss is the reopening of casinos in the country. The articulation between the two rulers was made by Sheldon Adelson, who has already shown interest in building a megaproject at Porto Maravilha in Rio, according to the newspaper 'O Globo', which covers Bolsonaro's agenda in the United States.

The first meeting of new Brazilian president Bolsonaro with Donald Trump will take place early in the afternoon at the White House. The two conservative heads of state are expected to discuss during the hearing bilateral trade, strategic partnerships in the military and the political and economic situation in Venezuela.

“The group that is here in the front line supporting the reopening of casinos in Brazil works with the information of Donald Trump that in today's meeting with Jair Bolsonaro should address the theme,” states O Globo.

The connection would have been made by 84-year-old Sheldon Adelson, who controls the largest US casino company and plans to build a megaproject in Porto Maravilha, in Rio de Janeiro. The billionaire from Las Vegas donated nearly US$ 200 million to the Trump campaign.
