The Panamerican Sports Poker Confederation (CPPD) comes to mark history in poker on the continent. The launch of the entity was made on Saturday (23), in the hall of BSOP São Paulo. The moment must mark new directions, even more successful, for this sport of the mind that keeps growing in the continent.

The entity gathers, so far, the Chilean, Mexican and Colombian Poker Federations, and, of course, the Brazilian Confederation of Texas Hold'em. The announcement was made by Ueltom Lima, president of CBTH, accompanied by Florentino Coalla (Mexico), Felipe Morbiducci (Chile), Carlos Munera (Colombia) and Alberoni Castro, Executive Director of CBTH.

Also present was Igor Trafane, known as the "Federal", former chairman of CBTH, who took over the presidency of the CPPD. Everyone made brief speeches about the importance of the moment, receiving many applause from the people in the hall, which stopped playing to accompany the moment.

The goal of the Confederation is to further foster play in the Americas and defending poker as a sport of mind across the continent. In everyone's speech, it became clear how Brazil is an example of success in the fight to break the image of poker as a game of chance.
