Proposal can be voted on soon

Parliamentarians support the liberation of casinos in Brazil to leverage tourism

Although Brazil is considered a country with several options related to tourism, it is far from being a tourist power. Just to reverse this situation, the Joint Parliamentary Front in Defense of Tourism debates strategies to improve these conditions. According to the president of Embratur, the former federal congresswoman Teté Bezerra, the proposal for the legalization of casinos in a physical way in Brazil should be voted on soon.

According to the coordinator of the collegiate, Deputy Herculano Passos (MDB - SP), the legalization of casinos, in addition to attracting new tourists that would leave more foreign money in the national territory, still creates a series of local employment and development opportunities:

"We have adventure tourism, religious tourism, business tourism, and Brazil is the largest country in environmental tourism in the world. The legalization of casinos is a controversial matter, but it is necessary because we have to move forward to generate opportunity for employment, development, and wealth for our country."

According to the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Rodrigo Maia, there are a number of studies in the sector, which point out that the liberation of casinos, very punctually, only within hotels and resorts, would result in the creation of 250 thousand to 300 thousand new jobs, in addition to generating a revenue of about US$ 5.75 billion in collections for the government.

According to the president of Embratur, the former federal congresswoman Teté Bezerra, the proposal for the legalization of casinos in a physical way in Brazil should be voted on soon:

"This proposal is in the Federal Chamber and has all the support of the parliamentary front, and should now be analyzed and put to a vote in this mandate. We see with great joy the engagement of this front, it is a very strong one."

It is worth noting that the release still raises controversy and there are several questions that are not right about the regulation of gaming houses. There is a front that advocates indiscriminate release, including slot machines and bingos, and another project is aimed at liberating only in remote regions as a means of local development.

However, the most feasible proposal at the moment is the release of casinos in resorts and hotels, where, initially, it would be easier to conduct a "controlled test", being able to make the necessary legal adjustments, and to set the related issues supervision. It is important to note that, despite all the tourist attractions, Brazil still does not figure as one of the main destinations in the world, and any type of implementation for the growth of the sector is welcome, since well-studied and implemented correctly, as currently happens in other Brazil’s neighboring countries
