Changes requested by the Gaming Inspection and Co-ordination Bureau (DICJ) stipulate that gaming manufacturers in Macau must operate through a Limited Liability Company (LLC) registered locally rather than a through a branch of a foreign-owned firm.
Aristocrat explains that the new local company will start operations April 1, with the licence of its predecessor, Aristocrat (Macau) Pty, due to expire on March 31.
The accreditation of Aristocrat’s local business was approved by DICJ on January 10, 2019, with the gaming regulator stating that it is valid until March 31, 2020, “provided the accreditation is not earlier suspended or revoked”, according to local media.
Aristocrat stated additionally that the new company ‘is still 100 per cent owned within the Aristocrat Group of Companies,’ clarifying that no changes to management, directors and offices of the company have taken place.
