The document addressed to Paulo Roberto Ribas, organizer of Dreamhack Rio 2019, also places at the disposal of the event the entire administrative structure of Setur - Rio de Janeiro Tourism Secretariat - for all the guidance and support needed to carry out the event.
In addition to the support, the Carioca government stressed that the state is living a new and positive moment and that it is an honor to host the event.
Dreamhack Rio 2019 will take place on April 19,20 and 21 at the Parque Olímpico da Barra da Tijuca. The event is divided into four attractions: the Dreamhack Open; the Dreamhack Expo; Dreamhack Lan Fest; and the Dreamhack Festival.
The Dreamhack Open takes place at the Carioca Arena 1 and is the tournament that brings together the best players in the world, has had more than 35 editions and distributed more than US$ 2.3 Mmillion in prizes worldwide.
Meanwhile, in the Carioca Arena 2 the Dreamhack Expo is held a conference with the main innovations of the world of technology. In addition, there will also be tests of new games, workshops, lectures and a cosplay contest (people who fantasize about characters from games and anime).
Already in the Arena Carioca 3, the Dreamhackers can take advantage of the entire structure of the Dreamhack Lan Fest; a space where participants will be connected to the digital world with a high-speed network for games, competitions and other activities. The Dreamhack Lan Fest space will feature the LAN PARTY area with 2000 locations and with LOGOUT AREA a place for visitors to rest.
And the Dreamhack Festival takes over the open area of the Olympic Park with several activations such as FREE PLAY AREAS, as well as a food square and other attractions.
The Olympic Park of Barra was built for the 2016 Olympic Games where it received diverse modalities like basketball, artistic gymnastics and other competitions. Since the end of the Olympics the venue has hosted several sporting and non-sporting events such as the Rio 2019 Dreamhack itself and the Rock 'n Rio 2019 music festival, one of the major events taking place in that space this year.
