Bolsonaro's invitation comes after the growth of ALSPI presence in meetings with deputies in defense of the lottery network. In recent months, the entity has been actively involved in negotiations and preparations to create a new parliamentary front for lottery businessmen in the Chamber of Deputies.
ALSPI has worked in partnership with Deputy Wellinton Prado (PROS / MG) for a new front, which will have its own deputy as president and is scheduled to be released in April. The main causes that will be defended in the new entity will be Legal Security, Economic-Financial Balance of Lottery, Lottery Business Future and Systems Infrastructure.
The confirmation of the meeting of the entity with President Bolsonaro consolidates the interest of the government at a time when the lottery sector still complain of financial problems that has led to the bankruptcy of many stores and the loss of numerous jobs. In the midst of this crisis, Caixa recently revealed its intention to open another 7,000 new lottery houses across the country; which quickly generated resistence from the network saying that this move could increase competition between stores and cause even more closures throughout Brazil.
In a radio interview this week, Bolsonaro commented on the work of the lottery, revealed that he was part of the second rank of an army of lawmakers who defended the lottery and were led by Nelson Marquezelli and Beto Mansur; who has a personal connection with the sector, since his nephew owns a store in Eldorado Paulista, in the interior of São Paulo, and that the purpose of the meeting is to solve the problems of the network.
"We scheduled a meeting; me, Pedro and the representatives of the lottery, so that in an hour, not come out with a proposal, but, solve their problems. If you come to me and say, 'I'm hungry'; do I need to wait for you to ask me for a plate of food? I go and pay your plate and you eat satisfied. That's what we want to do, anticipate problems," said Brazil’s president.
There is still not much information on the meeting of ALSPI with Bolsonaro, such as the date, for example; however, it is known that it must count on the presence of the president of the Caixa, Pedro Guimarães, and will happen in the Palace of the Planalto, in Brasília.
