After the deal is done, Santos continues seeking to find a master sponsor in the market. In recent match against Corinthians, in Pacaembu stadium for the semifinal of the Paulista Championship, in the main space of the shirt was displayed a logo of the payment platform PayGo especially for the occasion.
President José Carlos Peres recently said he is negotiating the master sponsorship with at least four private banks. The “Alvinegro” club has been following behind this new partner since January, but despite the good results of the professional team with coach Jorge Sampaoli, no deal has progressed.
Santos hoped to renew with state-owned bank Caixa earlier this season, but the new government led by Jair Bolsonaro barred the company from distributing sponsorships to football teams. It is worth remembering that last year's agreement yielded more than R$ 10 million (US$ 2.6m) to the club.
Santos currently has the sponsorship of Philco (back), Algar (bar), Unicesumar (shorts), Kodilar (socks) and Orthopride (numbers).
