According to Pérez Hidalgo, head of Colombian gaming regulator Coljuegos, with this tool citizens will only need to know a venue’s location in order to check whether it’s licensed, and therefore, contributes to the country’s health sector.
Premises include casinos, bingo halls, betting shops with slot machines, roulette and poker tables, sportsbooks, and other retail shops whose main business is not gambling.
“We are plenty aware that, now-a-days, citizens make use of internet through their mobile phones as wells as GPS navigation systems and numerous multimedia apps that use geolocation,” Pérez Hidalgo assured .
“We decided to include this technology so as to contribute to responsible gambling, strategic corporate development and allow Colombians to place bets with licensed operators whose proceeds will finance the nation’s health sector,” he concluded.
