The number of accesses to the portal surpassed the mark of 21 million. Most of them were made by cell phones. The Loterias Online portal allows bets on CAIXA Lotteries over the internet, even if the user is not a bank account holder. "I believe this result is a reflection of our concern to know the users' experience and keep the site in constant modernization," said Loterias national manager, Rodrigo Hori.
According to him, an example is the creation of combos that allow bets on various lottery modalities with only two or three simple clicks. "Only in the first month since the creation of the combos, they received more than five million hits, which shows the success of this new product," said Hori.
The Portal also offers options already popular in lottery stores, such as Surprise, which is when the bettor lets the system choose the numbers of the bet at random, and Teimosinha, which repeats the numbers by the number of contests chosen by the bettor. One feature available on the site is “Aposta Favorita” (Favorite Bet), in which the user can save a game and add it to the shopping cart without the need to fill the form again.
In addition to placing bets, it is also possible to check the results directly on the portal and see if the bet was awarded or not. In case of an award, the prize redemption process can be started on the platform itself, it can be completed in a lottery agency or keep it in the system and use the credit for future purchases.
To support the operation of the Loterias Online portal, the technology area also needs to be attentive to the capacity and availability of the system. "With the concern to maintain a high performance and give the demanding public of the Internet a fast and fluid platform, the system was developed with technology that uses the device of the bettor (computer, smartphone, tablet) to process the assembly of pages. This reduces the processing load on servers that, in turn, have scalability conditions for times of greater demand," explains Paulo Portugal, technology manager at CAIXA.
An example of this happened on December 31st, when the peak of use of the internet channel was registered, being the last day of bets for popular “Mega da Virada”. Nearly 750,000 users performed a total of 1.1 million page views throughout the day, running 10 million page views in the application. "Since the establishment of the betting portal, the development and operations teams work together to generate the best possible experience for the public," says Paulo Portugal.
For this year, CAIXA is preparing to launch the Lottery application, another innovation to improve the user experience. "The lottery application is our great project for this year. We plan to launch it by the end of the first half of 2019 and, with that, bring more ease to the public that uses smartphones," said Hori.
The national manager explains that the application is in the final stages of testing and goes through minor adjustments so that it is made available to the public with all necessary functionalities, such as betting, results and information access. "CAIXA's goal is always to increase the service network and the accessibility of the public, either with the expansion of channels or with the creation of different ones. The important thing is that all Brazilians can have access to lotteries wherever they may be."
Bettings
Anyone over 18 can place bets at lottery houses and at Loterias Online. In website loteriasonline.caixa.gov.br, users just need to register with their CPF (local Register of Individuals). Payment games is done by credit card. Users can place their bets at any time and in all prognosis modes: Mega-Sena, Lotofácil, Quina, Lotomania, Timemania, Double Seine, Loteca, Lotogol and Lucky Day. The amounts are the same as those charged at lottery stores. Bolão, however, remains an exclusive product of the lottery retailers. The minimum amount to be spent on betting is R$ 30 (US$7.6), and the maximum is of R$ 500 (US$127).
