Betting website MarjoSports becomes sponsor of Corinthians football club

Corinthians has just closed with MarjoSports Live Score, technology startup focused on sports betting, a 21-month partnership. The company becomes the club's newest official sponsor and its brand is displayed since last night match against Ceará on Timão's sleeve uniform. This is the second sponsorship of a bookmaker after the legalization of the activity in late 2018. Netbet opened the way supporting Fortaleza and Vasco da Gama.

Regarding the brand exposure, the MarjoSports Live Score logo will be stamped on the shirt sleeve of the players uniform, as well as backdrops for interviews, static cards at the Training Center, the website, posts on the social media club and the use of the "Official Sponsor of Corinthians" label.

"We welcome MarjoSports Live Score, which realized the potential of the platforms we have available for activation and promotion of the brand. It will be a very interesting partnership for both," explains Andrés Sanches, president of Corinthians.

It should be recalled that in his function as federal deputy for the PT / SP, Andrés Sanches himself had submitted in June 2018 an amendment to the bill creating the general tourism law authorizing the operation of casinos in resorts and bingos in stadiums of football with more than 15 thousand people. The legislator and president of Corinthians always had a favorable position to the opening of the gaming activity in Brazil.

The Curacao-based international betting website claims to be "a sports entertainment option allied to technology, a company that aims to develop tools to meet the cravings of sports fans, people who daily consume information on various modalities sports and make it a hobby."

"MarjoSports Live Score is an easy way to keep track of your favorite sport statistics, as well as real-time events. To keep the user fresh, the app also sends out notifications. The company's APP is available for free for users of Android and iOS devices," said the company on its website where it is possible to bet on a lot of different sports.

In 2016, the club had closed a deal with Winner to display the brand on its uniform but the partnership did not go forward, since the online gambling market had not been regulated by the government. With the law enacted in December last year that created the sport betting modality, the country took the first step towards legalization.

Netbet was the first company in Brazil in this new trend of football clubs signing deals with betting operators after its partnership with Fortaleza and Vasco da Gama. The project has not been regulated yet, but it already makes betting sites start investing in sponsoring teams. With MarjoSports, Corinthians now has all the spaces in its uniform filled. At the end of 2018, the club set a goal to raise R$ 42 million (US$ 11m) with advertisers.

With the announcement of the partnership between Coronthians and MarjoSports, the Brazilian Serie A Championship already has four big clubs sponsored by companies connected to gaming. In addition to Corinthians, Vasco da Gama and Fortaleza, sponsored by sports betting websites, Cruzeiro has a partnership with PMU Brasil, a traditional horse racing promotion and betting company.
