GLI becomes first accredited lab in Buenos Aires Province

Gaming Laboratories International has become the first test laboratory accredited by the Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos of the Province of Buenos Aires (IPLYC). The company will provide with various professional trials, assessments, technical training and certification services. “We are honored to be able to assist in IPLYC efforts to solidify regulatory controls in their jurisdiction,” said GLI’s Karen Sierra-Hughes.

The firm has met the requirements for being included in the "Registry of Certifying Laboratories – Province of Buenos Aires", with the technical and scientific means and the suitable personnel for the testing and certification of games, gaming machines, systems, and online gaming platforms on behalf of the IPLyC. This accreditation was accomplished in the context of recent regulations establishing the certification and homologation for casinos.

This GLI accreditation was accomplished in the context of recent regulations establishing the certification and homologation for casinos; as well as recent legalization and regulation of online gaming.

“Through the Registry of Certifying Laboratories of the Province of Buenos Aires, created by Resolution N°220/19, the IPLyC seeks to strengthen its control capacity and guarantee the technical solvency of the laboratories that perform certifications of the technical standards and requirements enforced in the jurisdiction,” said Sabrina Minin, Systems Director of the Buenos Aires Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos.

“In this regard, we emphasize that GLI has not only satisfactorily fulfilled all our administrative and technical requirements for registration, but for years has provided us advise with the highest degree of professionalism, both during audits in gaming halls as well as in regulatory matters,” Minin added.

GLI’s Director of Latin America and Caribbean Government Relations and Business Development Karen Sierra-Hughes stated: “We are grateful to the IPLYC for their transparency, guidance, and ongoing clarification which allowed us to efficiently and rapidly comply with their newly formulated accreditation process.”

“We are indeed honored to be able to assist the IPLYC in their efforts to strengthen and solidify regulatory controls in their jurisdiction. In addition to supporting the regulators’ plan, our thorough testing process will help suppliers and operators confidently meet their testing and certification needs; thereby allowing them to more quickly and efficiently enter this important land-based and online market,” Sierra-Hughes concluded.
