According to Caixa, other 838 bets hit the second category award and each of them will receive R$ 30,450.20 (US$ 7,685). In absolute numbers, uncorrected for inflation, the amount paid in this draw is only higher than those paid in the Mega da Virada of 2017 (US$ 77.4m) and 2018 (R$ 76.3m).
The award reached the record value of regular games after a series of 14 rounds with jackpot prize, the largest series in the history of the lottery. The last time the Mega-Sena had a series with so many draws accumulated was in 2006, when the contest had 12 rounds without anyone having the maximum prize.
The prize had only accumulated for such a long period in 2002 and 2004, but had never reached more than 12 draws without a winner. According to Caixa, 126.3 million bets were made in the country's lottery and through the internet for this last contest. Initially, the accumulated premium forecast was R$ 275 million (US$ 69.4m), but CEF reported that the amount was recalculated, jumping to R $ 289,420,865.00 (US$73.05m).
There were 126.3 million bets, with a collection of R$ 442.5 million (US$ 111.7m). The dozen drawn were 23, 24, 26, 38, 42 and 49. The prize went to a simple bet registered in CAIXA Internet Banking.
