Sportradar, IPS Online and NetBet talk about sports betting at CONAFUT 2019

For the first time in its three editions, the CONAFUT (National Football Conference), an event of discussion, reflection and networking of Brazilian football, debated on the Impacts of Legalization of Sports Betting in the Country. Ricardo Magri (LatAM Sportradar), Maria Noel Pais (Acquisition Manager Brazil of NetBet) and Witoldo Hendrich (Chief Legal Officer of Online IPS) are some of the panel speakers.

CONAFUT covers football in all its dimensions: technical, managerial and marketing. In panel discussions, industry experts present their views on the most relevant issues in the current scenario. In its third edition, the event is currently the most important meeting point of the Brazilian football market, with the participation of the main players in the area.

With more than 20 hours of event and 500 participants in two days (16 and 17 May, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.), CONAFUT is organized by The360 y Trevisan-Business School, and will be developed in CIEE district of Itaim Bibi, in São Paulo, at Tabapuã Street, 445.

The objectives of the event are to generate debates and reflections on the main topics of the Brazilian football; to propagate best practices of management and cases of the sector, to promote the networking between clubs, investors, suppliers and regulators of this sport and to contribute to the professionalization and development of the activity.

The panel "The Impacts of Legalization of Sports Betting in Brazil" will be on Friday at 10.00am, with an approximate duration of 1 hour and 15 minutes. Along with Hendrick, Magri and Pais, will also talk Victor Simpson, Commercial Manager of Fortaleza E.C. and Ari Aguiar, narrator of ESPN channels, will be the moderator.

Witold Hendrich Jr. is clear about where he will contribute to the panel: "My idea is to show, first of all, in what stage we are in this regulatory environment, a subject I have been working on for a long time. I want to give them a history, explain to all of them where we stand, what are the next steps."

"We know that football has a lot of political force here in Brazil. The idea is to explain them what it is that we need to walk with the regulation of sports betting and be able to count on the collaboration of all the teams, not only the big ones but all the smaller clubs of the country. Because even in a small municipality with few inhabitants, that club has local influence with the Mayor, with the councilmen, who also has influence with the state, federal, senator, governor, president. It is a cascade effect, a domino effect. And that's what I'm going to try to present at the event," concludes the Chief Legal Officer of the well-known payment company, Online IPS.

"For NetBet, CONAFUT represents an important opportunity to continue showing the Brazilian market the recent sponsorship partnerships we have made with football teams. The idea is to always be present together with Vasco and Fortaleza in all events that are participating as in this case, where we will share the panel together with Victor Simpson, Commercial Manager of Fortaleza CE," explains María Noel Pais, Acquisition Manager Brazil of NetBet.

“In the session we will explain Netbet investments in Brazilian Football. We are a company that wants to support Brazil's economy with genuine local investments, seeking to generate hundreds of jobs, while at the same time focusing on contributing to social causes in the most vulnerable places where the young people play football and dream of getting far," adds Noel Pais exclusively to GMB.

For his part, Ricardo Magri, Director of Business Development in Latin America at Sportradar, also highlighted the importance of the event: "CONAFUT is an event that keeps on growing every year, connecting several segments within the sports industry and also connecting this industry with other important ones, such as entertainment and gaming.”

"Sportradar supports this event precisely by acting on all these fronts, and especially this year, by helping to bring the sports betting ecosystem closer to clubs, federations and even the public in a positive way for the collective benefit," added Magri.
