President Bruno Omori visits Singapore

ABIH-SP meets Sands Group to deepen work to develop towards casinos opening in Brazil

This morning, Bruno Omori, president of the Brazilian Association of Hotel Industry in São Paulo (ABIH-SP), toured the imposing Marina Bay Sands complex in Singapore and held a productive meeting with Ian Feldman, VP of Casino Operations. 'We approached the work for the approval of casinos and gaming in Brazil and strategic partnerships between the Sands Group and ABIH-SP,' Omori explained exclusively to Games Magazine Brasil.

At the positive meeting, Omori and Feldman talked about the Singapore tourist market and the Integrated Resort Casino where the international group invested US$ 5.5 billion for the construction of the hotel with 2550 Uhs. The casino has 2500 machines and 800 table games,  and the complex includes a convention center for 15,000 people, theater, shopping with 200 luxury brands, Museum of the Future and nightclub for 2,000 people.

"We then took a special tour inside the hotel and the casino, and we talked a lot about the market. We commented about the approval of the gaming market in Brazil, about the casinos in integrated resorts that he brought to the city, which had an addition of 100% more guests after the integration and inauguration ... tourism as a factor of economic development," told Omori to Games Magazine Brasil.

Omori has been in Singapore since May 12 where he officially lectured and participated as VP of CBMMA - Brazilian Mixed Martial Arts Confederation- at Nielsen's "What is next in Global Sports" event with key conference of Micahel Phelps, and participated at the World Congress of the MMA by GAMMA - Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts - One Dragon Fight. He took the opportunity to create an ABIH-SP / IDT-CEMA agenda for speaking and promoting Tourism / Gaming / Casinos in SP and Brazil, with scheduled meetings with hotel, government, casino and tourism leaders.

"The Sands Group has made this whole structure thinking of united hands with the government to strengthen tourism and, with this, they can have an ever higher occupation rate and bring a differentiated public with money to strengthen the economy of the country. Besides that, they have a project here in Singapore of an investment expansion of more than US$ 2 billion to be able to build a new tower and add new opportunities for the casino," also explains Omori.

"We also talked about the opportunity within Brazil with the opening of the gaming market, with investments by Sheldon Adelson, who has been in the country talking about projects of 10/15 billion dollars of investments and also creating another possibility of strategic partnerships between ABIH -SP, and the Sands Group. We talked about the opportunity that we can have in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and all of Brazil with the release of the activity and the arrival of groups such as Sands. The idea of ABIH is always to strengthen ties both for tourism and to have more know-how and expertise in relation to the gaming market," concluded ABIH-SP president who will remain in Singapore until May 21.
