Buenos Aires Province calls for companies interested in operating online gaming

Within the framework of the regulation of activity in the province of Buenos Aires in Argentina, provided by Law 15,079, the call to grant up to 7 licenses was published in the Official Gazette. It will be for electronic, computer, telematic and interactive media. June 25 closes the deadline to submit documentation. Foreign entities will have the requirement to operate at least one international online gaming license and a demonstrable net worth of US$ 100 million as of December 31, 2018.

The administration of Governor María Eugenia Vidal took another step towards the concession and regulation of online gambling in the province of Buenos Aires, after publishing in the Official Gazette the call for the granting of up to seven licenses for the development of the activity.

The text of the call includes the different modalities, such as "electronic, computer, telematic and interactive media, in the area of the Province of Buenos Aires, for a term of fifteen (15) years, not extendable."

The call also states that the Participation Right is established in the amount of $ 5,500,000 (US$ 117,000), establishing as date, time and place for receipt of the required documentation next June 25, 2019, at 11:00 am in the Meeting Room of the Presidency of the Provincial Institute of Lottery and Casinos.

On the other hand, it establishes that the Evaluation Technical Commission will analyze and evaluate the proposals received, "establishing in a clear manner, the score that corresponds to each applicant making a Comparative Table that reflects the score awarded to each one".

The text of the regulation of online gambling provided by Law 15,079 states that "online operators may be people who have a minimum demonstrable experience of two years in the development of gaming activities, either through the administration, management or exploitation of the game under the online mode; board games rooms, bingo halls, casinos and electronic machines, or data capture and processing through online gambling terminals, offline, manufacturing of gaming terminals, gaming platforms and accessories. " In addition, they must have demonstrable annual total income in excess of $ 50,000,000 (about $ 1.06 million).

In the case of legal persons, are allowed to participate national public or private entities that have the same demonstrable experience, but earnings of $ 250,000,000 (approximately US$ 5.3 million) for the period 2018. Foreign entities will have the requirement to operate at least one international online gaming license and a demonstrable net worth of US$ 100 million as of December 31, 2018.
