PL Bill amends Law 13.756/18

Project extends lottery resources to State Secretaries of Sport in Brazil

Written by deputy Beto Pereira (PSDB-MS), PL Bill 1920/19 expands the resources destined to the Secretaries of State Sports from the collection of lotteries of numerical prognostics (such as Quina, Mega-Sena and Lotomania). According to the text, the current percentage of 1% will increase to 1.75%. The proposal is in the Chamber of Deputies.

Currently, the Ministry of Sports receives 3.53% of the revenue from lottery betting, of which 2.49% stays in the portfolio, 0.4% is transferred to the National Confederation of Sports Clubs (Fenaclubes) and 1% goes to the Secretaries of Sports of the states and Federal District.

The state portion should be applied primarily in Olympic and Paralympic sports school games.

For the deputy, the concentration of resources in the ministry affects the sport. "It is fundamental, for the sake of respect for the federal pact, that states, Federal District and municipalities have, at least, access to the same percentage of resources that is the responsibility of the Union," Pereira says.

The proposal will be analyzed conclusively by the Sports commissions; Finance and Taxation; and of Constitution and Justice and Citizenship.
