Victor Arias, firm’s Development Manager

"We support the BgC because Brazil is a key region for Patagonia's growth strategy"

Victor Arias, Development Manager of Patagonia Entertainment, received Games Magazine Brazil at its booth on the opening day of BgC 2019 in Sao Paulo. Ready to offer its large product portfolio in the event they sponsor for the first time, Arias spoke about his strong interest in the local market and its expansion in Latin America, Asia and Africa.

GMB: With what expectations do you arrive at BgC 2019 and why did you decide to sponsor the event?
Victor Arias: We always arrive at the Brazilian Gaming Congress with high expectations after the previous 6th editions were such a success. Our decision to sponsor the event this year was an easy one given the importance of the Brazilian iGaming market for us.

It’s a chance to get together with key operators, investors and legislators to discuss the vast potential of the gaming market and how to maneuver into the best position to capitalise once its regulated.

Sponsoring this event demonstrates our commitment to the region. We believe it’s important for our brand to be present in what we believe is one of the most important events in the area.

What will visitors be able to see Patagonia’ stand during the event?
Visitors to our stand during this event will be able to find out everything you need to know about Patagonia Entertainment’s outstanding iGaming offering. There is a chance to explore our vast portfolio of games and see how they can help your business grow. Patagonia’s world-renowned Games Studio is undergoing some exciting developments and we’ll reveal more throughout this event.

On the stand, we’ll also have some of our brilliant staff to answer any questions about products and plans for the Brazilian region. Our omni-channel platform is proudly on show too and its provided the foundation for the fantastic growth we’ve enjoyed over the past few years.

The Ministry of Economy will participate in one of the panels. Is Patagonia interested to attend it in order to know how will be the regulation of sports betting and online gambling in Brazil?
Yes, of course. Regulation is key for LatAm and has paved the way for huge successes in Colombia already. Having a clear and transparent process is best for everyone to ensure operators make the most of the vast potential of Brazil’s iGaming market. It’s a wonderful chance to hear from the regulators to make sure we’re ready and meeting all requirements.

Within the growth that experiences Latin America, where would you position Brazil?
Brazil has a population of a little over 200m people, there is a rich history of sports and a passionate gaming fanbase. Brazil forms an important part of our growth strategy. According to the latest statistics, Brazil is the number one market showing huge maturity and growth in the entertainment industry.

Do you usually receive from your customers interest to invest in the local market?
Yes, of course, operators are always looking for expansion opportunities and exploring new markets.

Patagonia provides unrivalled support to any operator interested in launching its brand in the region and we’re available to share our expertise. The best strategy is building partnerships and working closely with local partners to make sure operators are aware of how to create content for local behaviours. Patagonia prides itself on its localised approach to LatAm and is the market-leader in delivering services and products that produce results across the various markets.

Of the huge offer of Patagonia’ services and products, which ones will be the most accepted by bettors in Brazil?
Video Bingo will be massive. Our Video Bingo library is second-to-none and Brazil has a rich history and passion for the game. Our Games Studio will be releasing additional content during the remainder of the year, so watch this space. All our titles are designed with a localized, optimized and omni-channel approach. As I always say, localization and optimization for individual market requirements are key factors to success.

You have added some new products and sign different agreements in the last months. How do you evaluate this first half of the year for Patagonia and what could you anticipate about what is to coming in the second part of 2019?
The first half of this year has been brilliant and we’re proud of the progress made. Patagonia has signed partnerships with a large number of content providers to maintain our position as the best gaming aggregating system in the region. By the end of the year we will have over 50 content providers accessible through the platform.

Along with adding partners to our platform, our own creative Games Studio is to deliver more proprietary titles to the market. Each game release is designed for mobile-first, html5 and offers the best user experience available. Stay tuned for our new exciting releases soon!!

Patagonia has received its certification for the Colombian market and we’ll be working hard to ensure we make the most of this region too. In the near future, we’ll also have our iGaming certification for the Spanish market and we’ll be expanding throughout the globe.

Expansion into Africa and Asia is another focus for Patagonia. Both regions are showing huge demand for our technology and we cannot wait to expand our offering. Earlier this month we signed our first African deal with mobile service designer, Moobifun.
