Huddersfield Town unveils shocking ‘new kit’ featuring Paddy Power sash

In current football it is normal to see sponsors stamping the most varied spaces of a uniform. Shoulders, lumbar region, back of shorts and even underarms. But Huddersfield Town, a club that was once English champion and today plays in the second division, went beyond. The club has stamped sponsor Paddy Power on a giant diagonal sash in his traditional blue and white shirt. This is the company's first sponsorship of the football club.

The Terriers, relegated from the Premier League last season, recently inked a sponsorship deal with Paddy Power and the bookmaker’s name features heavily on the strip.

Fans didn’t take too kindly to the design – featuring a bold Paddy Power sash – when it was released on social media on Wednesday.

The club’s commercial director Sean Jarvis explained: “We’ve gone for a really modern twist on how we feature the famous Paddy Power logo.

“Paddy Power is a very forward-thinking, innovative company – that’s one of the main reasons that we’re so excited to work with them – the new ‘sash’ style logo is really eye-catching and helps maintain our reputation as being innovators too.”

Under FA regulations, sponsors’ names on a shirt can only be a maximum size of 250cm squared so, sadly, it looks like the sash will have to go.
