Brazil's congressional government leader launches poll about casinos reopening on social networks

Federal Congresswoman Joice Hasselmann (PSL-SP), the highest-ranking woman in the Chamber's history with 1,078,659 votes and that was elected by President Jair Bolsonaro to lead Congressional government, launched yesterday a survey on her official Instagram and twitter accounts. 'In South America, besides Ecuador, only Brazil does not allow casinos. Are you in favor of reopening the casinos?', asks Hasselmann. Strong support to legalization.

"The importance of resort-casinos for tourism and job creation in many countries is enormous, including in Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay. Our money continues to go to Punta, Las Vegas, Caribbean, etc.," comments Hasselmann in a post from her official Instagram account that has 1.6 million followers.

Using an image with a roulette wheel, the deputy invites to vote option 1 (Yes) or option 2 (No) to reopen casinos in Brazil. Until 10a.m. today, the post had 26.689 “likes” and 13.709 comments, with huge majority of opinions favorable to the return of the activity to the country.

Hasselmann is in her first term as MP and was the highest-ranking woman in the history of the Chamber of Deputies with 1,078,659 votes.

Also on Twitter, Hasselmann replied the query. "In South America, besides Ecuador, only Brazil does not allow casinos. They were closed 74 years ago by President Dutra. Are you in favor of the reopening of casinos?", the deputy asks since yesterday afternoon in her official account.

The survey has two response options, YES and NO, and ends today at 2:00 p.m. So far and with just a few hours ahead, the reopening of the casinos wins by 62% to 38% over those who are against.

The tweet recorded, until 10a.m. today, 797 “likes”, 244 retweets, 539 answers and 12.719 votes in the question. Also, in this profile, the wide majority of comments are favorable to the legalization of the activity.

Joice Hasselmann is from Paraná state, city of Ponta Grossa, and is a journalist. She has worked on CBN radio, BandNews FM, Veja magazine as TVeja presenter, Record on the affiliate RIC TV and on the SBT by affiliate Rede Massa.

Joice has a YouTube channel where she comments about the national news. The deputy was one of the leaders of the demonstrations in favor of Operation Lava Jato of the Federal Police and supported the impeachment of former President Dilma Rousseff.
