In the midst of the continuous growth of poker in Santa Catarina, Camboriú consolidated alongside Florianópolis as the card capital in the state. Just this year, for example, Camboriú has hosted a stage of the Kings Series of Poker (KSOP) and will receive another between July 31 and August 7.
KSOP has established itself as the second most important circuit in the country, behind only the Brazilian Series of Poker (BSOP), which has existed since 2006 and is targeted by practically all Latin American competitors.
The Importance of KSOP for poker in Brazil
KSOP has emerged with the purpose of further spreading poker in the country and is reaping great fruit. The circuit last year, which had six stages and passed through five different cities, was a success and served as a guide for the main poker sites in Brazil.
This year, the circuit has maintained its winning structure of 2018 with some news for competitors. In addition, the growth of KSOP is attracting quality professionals. One of them is Paulo Gini, a Paulista who last year was among the first in the overall BSOP ranking.
Other famous players in the Brazilian poker business, such as Alen Fillipi and Celso Sirtoli are also competing in the KSOP circuit this year. Therefore, it is very important for Camboriú to host the stages in order to help with the growth of the sport in the city.
Beach city Camboriú has also been home of other stages
Besides already having two guaranteed stages in 2019, Camboriú was extremely important for the KSOP schedule last year, as this was the only city that received two stages of the circuit.
Just like this year, in 2018 Camboriú hosted the first and fourth stages of the season. The multiple accomplishments were well received by the competitors, something that leveraged the status of the city in relation to the organization of the circuit.
Camboriú also has a past with the BSOP and for some time it was also one of the venues of the famous circuit. The last time the city hosted it was in 2016, when hundreds of professional athletes competed in the biggest tournament in the country.
It is worth mentioning that the first stage of this year's KSOP was won by a local of Santa Catarina. Edson Nunes, a competitor already experienced in poker, was crowned champion of the main stage held in Camboriú.
Venue of the stages, Infinity Blue SPA & Resort stands out by structure
The KSOP stages already held in Camboriú were hosted at Infinity Blue SPA & Resorts. Keeping the tradition, the resort will also be home to the upcoming circuit event in the city.
It is not by chance that the Infinity Blue SPA & Resort is the great poker house of Camboriú. Five stars rated, it has more than 100 apartments, including many luxury ones.
"The resort is a complex that combines a series of options for entertainment, adventure, gastronomy, leisure and rest for both guests and locals," says its own description, which is located on Praia dos Amores and hosts several other types of events.
Infinity Blue SPA & Resorts also hosted the BSOP on several occasions. According to specialized poker website Hendon Mob, the first time that the resort hosted a stage of this circuit was in 2012 and it repeated the experience in 2015 and 2016.
